⚔️
FCRA Section 609
Demand original verification docs. If bureau can't produce them — item must be deleted. Best for unverifiable debts.
🔍
FCRA Section 611 MOV
After failed dispute, demand exactly HOW they verified it. If they can't explain the method — deleted.
🤝
Goodwill Letter
Write directly to original creditor. Show good history since, ask for removal as goodwill. Works on late payments.
📋
Debt Validation
Under FDCPA demand collector prove they legally own the debt. Must show contract, chain of custody, amount owed.
💸
Pay-for-Delete
Negotiate: pay X in exchange for complete deletion from all 3 bureaus. GET IT IN WRITING before paying.
🛑
Cease & Desist
Stop all collector contact immediately. Under FDCPA — once sent, they must stop or face $1,000 per violation.
Step 3 — Generate Professional Dispute Letter
Step 4 — Send Your Letter Correctly
NEVER EMAIL. Always send via USPS Certified Mail with Return Receipt. This creates legal proof with a timestamp — the bureau must respond within 30 days.
1. Print the letter
Plain white paper — no letterhead needed
Simple
2. Include copies of supporting docs
Photo ID, address proof, dispute evidence (copies only — never originals)
Important
3. Go to USPS — Certified Mail with Return Receipt
Costs $7–8. Green card comes back signed as legal proof.
Required
4. Keep tracking number + green card FOREVER
This is your legal evidence if you need to sue for FCRA violations.
Critical
5. Set a 35-day reminder
Bureau has 30 days to respond. You follow up on day 35.
Track It
Step 5 — Follow Up & Escalation Plan
DAY 30 — BUREAU DEADLINE
Bureau must respond within 30 days. If they delete → pull all 3 reports to confirm. If they verify → send Round 2 (Method of Verification). If no response → FCRA violation — file CFPB complaint immediately.
IF VERIFIED — ROUND 2 ATTACK
Send Section 611 Method of Verification letter. Demand they explain exactly how they verified it — who they contacted, what records they used. If they can't prove the verification method, it must come off.
NUCLEAR OPTION — CFPB + ATTORNEY
After 3 rounds with no resolution: File CFPB complaint at consumerfinance.gov/complaint. Bureaus respond fast to CFPB. Then contact a consumer rights attorney — FCRA allows $1,000 per violation + damages + attorney fees (contingency — costs you nothing).
WHEN DELETED — WHAT TO DO
Pull all 3 reports within 5 days. Verify deletion on ALL 3 — removal from one doesn't mean all three. Update your tracker. Then start on the next negative item.

COLLECTIONS GUIDE
How to erase collections, charge-offs, late payments — every type — complete A to Z
🗑️ HOW TO ERASE COLLECTIONS — Complete Steps
Step 1 — NEVER pay without a strategy. Paying a collection without a written pay-for-delete agreement resets the activity date and does nothing for your score.

Step 2 — Send Debt Validation letter first. Under FDCPA, collector has 30 days to prove they own the debt. Many cannot. If they can't validate, the collection must be deleted from your report.

Step 3 — Dispute simultaneously with all 3 bureaus. Send 609 disputes to all bureaus where it appears. If the collector can't validate the debt with the bureau either, it gets deleted.

Step 4 — Negotiate Pay-for-Delete. If they validate: offer 25–40 cents on the dollar in exchange for complete deletion from all 3 bureaus. GET IT IN WRITING on their letterhead before sending one cent.

Step 5 — Florida SOL is 5 years. If the debt is past 5 years from first delinquency, you cannot be sued. Do NOT make any payment or verbal acknowledgment — this resets the SOL clock.

Step 6 — 7-Year Rule. All collections must be removed after 7 years from date of first delinquency — not from when it was sold to a collector. If it's close to 7 years, wait rather than paying.

⚖️ Credit Laws That Protect You
FCRA — Fair Credit Reporting Act: right to dispute, 30-day response, sue for violations ($1,000+)
FDCPA — Fair Debt Collection Practices Act: controls collectors, right to validation
FACTA — Fair & Accurate Credit Transactions Act: free reports, fraud alerts, identity theft rights
ECOA — Equal Credit Opportunity Act: no credit discrimination
Credit Repair · Debt Chain
SECONDARY CREDITORS
Original creditor → collector → debt buyer chain · Know who owns your debt · Deal direct
🔗 THE DEBT BUYER CHAIN — How It Works
The Chain: Original Creditor → sells to Collection Agency → resells to Debt Buyer → resells again

Why This Matters: By the time debt reaches a buyer, original documentation may not exist. The buyer paid pennies on the dollar. They often CANNOT validate the debt. Send a validation letter and many will delete rather than spend money proving it.

Power Move: Contact the ORIGINAL creditor directly. Offer settlement — they may take it and pull the collection back. You deal with who you actually owe, not the middleman who bought your debt for 3 cents on the dollar.
